Temporary Closure of Sandy Lane, Upton
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Sandy Lane, Upton between Old Bound Road and Yarrells Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 170 metres, residents access will be maintained. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 25 July 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 August 2022. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to upgrade the existing rising main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Sandy Lane, B3068 Blandford Road, Yarrells Lane and vice versa. Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.

Temporary Closure of Moorland Way, Upton
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Moorland Way, Upton between Sandy Lane and Pinewood Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 320 metres, residents access will be maintained. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 August 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 2 September 2022. This Order will enable SGN safe access to replace a gas main.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Sandy Lane, Yarrells Lane, B3068 Blandford Road, B3067 Dorchester Road, Moorland Way and vice versa.

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to extend the current no waiting at any time restriction on Beech Court, Dorchester for approximately 7m.

Public Notice
Report of Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman

The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has issued a report following its investigation of a complaint against Dorset Council.
The complaint was about a matter related to the Council's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
service. The Ombudsman found that there had been fault on the part of the Council and this had caused injustice
to the complainant. Dorset Council has agreed to take action to remedy the complaint and Council will now
consider the report and tell the Ombudsman within three months what it proposes to do.
Copies of the report will be available for public inspection during normal office hours at Dorset Council, County
Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester DT1 1XJ for three weeks starting on 21 July 2022.
Anyone is entitled to take copies of the report or extracts from it.
Copies will be supplied free of charge.
