ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 HIGHWAYS ACT 1980


NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council ("the Council") proposes to make the Orders named below under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which if they come into force will introduce various changes as detailed below:

BRIGHTON & HOVE VARIOUS CONTROLLED PARKING ZONES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.* 202* (TRO-25A-2022)

- Make changes to waiting, loading and parking restrictions on the Kingsway from west of Fourth Avenue to Wharf Road - changing restrictions in Zones N, R and W. It also makes changes to restrictions in King's Esplanade (East), King's Esplanade (West), St Aubyns and Hove Street South (all Zone N).

BRIGHTON & HOVE OUTER AREAS (WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING) AND CYCLE LANES CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2018 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.* 202* (REF: TRO-25B-2022)
- Introduces a new mandatory cycle lane on Kingsway, from Fourth Avenue westwards to Saxon Road.

BRIGHTON & HOVE (VARIOUS ROADS) (ONE WAY) TRAFFIC ORDER 2012 AMENDMENT ORDER NO.* 202* (REF: TRO-25C-2022)
- Will allow pedal cycles to travel contra-flow to the one-way in St Aubyns South

NOTICE is also given that the Council, pursuant to powers contained in Section 90A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, proposes to construct a flat top road hump (maximum height 75mm) at the following locations:
- Medina Terrace from the southern kerbline of Kingsway southwards for 5 metres.
- Medina Terrace at junction with Kings Esplanade from a point 5.5 metres north of the northern kerbline of King's Esplanade (East) southwards and westwards to a point 6.5 metres west of the western kerbline of Medina Terrace.
- Sussex Road from the southern kerbline of Kingsway southwards for 5 metres.
- King's Esplanade (East) from a point 21 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Sussex Road eastwards for 5 metres.

A copy of this Notice, the proposed Orders, plans showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be seen online at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/current-tros. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to the Executive Director Economy, Environment & Culture, Brighton & Hove City Council, c/o Parking Design & Implementation, Room G40, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road Hove, BN3 3BQ quoting the TRO reference number shown above or by e-mail to TROcomment@ brighton-hove.gov.uk or online (see details above) no later than 12 August 2022.
