Lowther Street, Temporary One Way Traffic Restrictions

The County Of Cumbria (A5094 Back Corkickle, A5094 Flatt Walks And Lowther Street, Whitehaven) (Temporary One-Way Traffic Restrictions) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to:
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a north westerly direction along that section of the A5094 Back Corkickle, Whitehaven from its junction with Park Drive, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 400m; Alternative route for southeast bound vehicles: via the C4033, B5345, C4035, A595 and the unrestricted sections of the A5094. Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. 3 weeks (Ref: CO22-173)
2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a north westerly direction along that section of the A5094 Flatt Walks, Whitehaven from its junction with Coach Road extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 70m;
Alternative route for southeast bound vehicles: via Flatt Walks, Irish Street, Preston Street and Coach Road.
Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. 5 weeks (Ref: CO22-C190)
3. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a north westerly direction along that section of the A5094 Lowther Street, Whitehaven from a point approx. 350m north west of its junction with Coach Road extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 150m.
Alternative route for south east bound vehicles: via Irish Street, Preston Street, Coach Road and Lowther Street. Duration: From 15 August 2022 for approx. 4 weeks (Ref: CO22-C167)
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

The Order will come into operation on 25 July 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
