Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 14*1 day of July 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4), (5), (6) & (7).

(1) Leeman Road. York

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Leeman Road, York between locations 40 metres either side of Marble Arch Tunnel, Leeman Road (closed road) during the period when train movement works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2330hrs on Saturday, 16 July 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Sunday, 17 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(2) York Road. The Green & Wetherby Road (B12241. York

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on York Road, The Green & Wetherby Road (B1224), York (i) on York Road between the roundabout controlled junction with Oak Rise and the junction with The Green and (ii) on The Green between the junctions with York Road and Wetherby Road (B1224) and (iii) on Wetherby Road (B1224) between the junction with The Green and the roundabout controlled junction with Beckfield Lane (closed roads) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Monday, 18 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 22 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between the times of 1900hrs and 2359hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(3) Askham Bryan Lane. Askham Bryan

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Askham Bryan Lane, Askham Bryan between its roundabout controlled junction with the A1237 and its junction with Main Street, Askham Bryan (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Friday, 22 July 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Wednesday, 27 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1900hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(4) Railway Walk. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway / cycleway on Railway Walk, York between its junctions with Back Lane From Adjacent Marygate To 14 Earlsborough Terrace and Marygate Lane (closed footway/cycleway) during the period when footway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 25 July 2022 and ending at 1500hrs on Tuesday, 26 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and cyclists will be signed during the works period. The subway between Marygate Lane and Bootham Terrace will remain open throughout.

(5) Granville Terrace. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Granville Terrace, York between its junction with Lawrence Street and the southern extended boundary of property No. 1, Granville Terrace (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 26 July 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Wednesday, 27 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1800hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(6) Scarcroft Road. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Scarcroft Road, York between its junction with The Mount and a location 22 metres south-east of said junction (closed road) during the period when gas mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 25 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Tuesday, 09 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(7) Coppergate. Piccadilly & Pavement. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Coppergate, York between its junction with Piccadilly and the projected south-western boundary of property No. 26 (closed road) and prohibiting pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on Piccadilly & Pavement, York (i) on the north-eastern side of Piccadilly between its junction with Pavement and the projected south-eastern boundary of Property No. 9 and (ii) on the south-eastern side of Pavement between the junction with Piccadilly and the projected north-western boundary of property No. 10 (closed footway) during the period when surveying works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2100hrs on Monday, 25 July 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Tuesday, 26 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that Coppergate will only be closed between 0001 hrs and 0600 hrs on Tuesday, 26 July 2022. Additionally, all 'on-streef parking places situated on (a) the north-eastern side of Piccadilly, York between the projected southernmost boundary of property No 3 and a location 28 metres southeast of said boundary and (b) the north-western side of Piccadilly between the projected southernmost boundary of property No. 6 and a location 12 metres southeast of said boundary (suspension areas) will be subject to suspension. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns.
