What is happening?

SSEN Transmission, is proposing to refurbish the overhead line (OHL) from Sloy Substation to Windyhill, which comprises two 132 kV steel lattice

tower lines. Within Argyll and bute the Proposed Development will entail the construction of temporary access tracks to facilitate the works, both within and just outside of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

and feedback on our planning application to construct these temporaray access tracks- The planning application for this project is a cross boundary application.

Why is this project required?

Due to the increase in renewable energy generation in Argyll, some of the existing network needs to be upgraded and reinforced to ensure supply and support the transition to net zero emissions The objective of the project is to design, supply, construct/refurbish, commission, energise and test the Sloy-Windyhill circuits in a safe, economically viable way, with care and attention taken to limiting the environmental impact and minimising the impact on the supply to our Customers.
