A20 Trunk Road (Swanley) Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A20 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road by contractors working on behalf of SGN. The effect of the Order is:-
a) to authorise the overnight closure of the London-bound carriageway of the A20 between Swanley Interchange
(M20 Junction 1/M25 Junction 3) and Maidstone Road Junction (B2173);
b) to authorise the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the London-bound carriageway of the A20 between points 532 metres and 1110 metres west of the centreline of the B2173 (London Road) overbridge; and
c) to impose a 24-hour mandatory 50mph speed restriction on the London-bound carriageway of the A20 between points 540 metres and 2300 metres west of the centreline of the B2173 (London Road) overbridge.
These measures are in the interests of road
safety while contractors undertake gas main
replacement and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for
approximately 3 weeks starting on or after
Friday 29th July 2022.
The Order will come into force on
27th July 2022 and have a maximum duration
of eighteen months, ceasing when the works
are complete.
Traffic affected by closure will be diverted
using the B2173 and the B258.
The temporary closures, speed restriction and diversion signs will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
