Back Emlyn Street, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

The County Of Cumbria (U60i9 Back Furnace Place, Askam-In-Furness, And U6i92 Back Emlyn Street And U6147 Cheltenham Street, Barrow) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U6019 Back Furnace Place, Askam-in-Furness, from its junction with Wakefield Street, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 10m;
Alternative Route: Via Wakefield Street, Furnace Street and Victoria Street.
Duration: From 13 July 2022 for approx. 1 day.
2. U6192 Back Emlyn Street, Barrow, from its junction with High Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 60m; Alternative Route: via Buccleuch Street, Manchester Street and High Street.
Duration: From 9 August 2022 for approx. I day.
3. U6147 Cheltenham Street, Barrow, from its junction with Abbey Road, extending in a north westerly direction from approx. 15m;
Alternative Route: via Warwick Street, Brighton Street and Abbey Road.
Duration: From 2I August 2022 for approx. I day.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by
statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for
pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads,
or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and
only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email
quoting the reference BA22-7-6. The Order will come into operation on 13 July 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
