Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 30th day of June 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3) & (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (5), (6) & (7).

(1) Moor Lane Level Crossing. Strensall  (2) Lords Moor Lane. Strensall
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Lords Moor Lane, Strensall at the railway level crossing (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2320hrs on Sunday, 03 July 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Monday, 04 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(3) Askham lane. York
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Askham Lane, York between the roundabout controlled junction with Gale Lane and the roundabout controlled junction with the A1237 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Thursday, 07 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Tuesday, 12 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 1900hrs and 2359hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(4) Stamford Bridge - Kexby Prow 15/17/20. Stamford Bridge
This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding in that length of public right of way No 15/17/20 between Stamford Bridge and Kexby (closed footpath), due to subsidence, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on Thursday, 07 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 06 January 2023 (danger period) or at a time when remedial works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. This Order continues the temporary footpath closure Notice which had an end date of 2359hrs on Wednesday, 06 July 2022.

(5) Ogleforth. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Ogleforth, York between its junction with Goodramgate and a location 57 metres northwest of said junction (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 11 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 15 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(6) Footpath From Rear of 1 to Rear of 50 Grosvenor Terrace. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on from the Rear Of 1 To Rear Of 50 Grosvenor Terrace, York between its junction with Grosvenor Road and the projected southern boundary of property No 48 (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 11 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 05 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, all on-street parking on (i) both sides of Grosvenor Road between the junction with Grosvenor Terrace and the junction with the footpath from rear of 1 to rear of 67 Newborough Street and (ii) on both sides of Newborough Street between the junction with Grosvenor Road and the projected southern boundary of property No. 8 will be subject to suspension (suspension area). An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

7 Moor lane. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Moor Lane, York between its roundabout controlled junctions with Tadcaster Road and Chaloners Road (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Wednesday, 13 July 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Monday, 18 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 1900hrs and 2359hrs each night during the works period. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/ barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
