Northumberland County Council (Tynedale Pie N Peas 10k Race 2022) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2022 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section
16A
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council ("the Council"), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act') and all other enabling powers, has made on the 21st June 2022 the Northumberland County Council (Tynedale Pie n Peas 10k race 2022) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2022 ("the TTRO").
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of the Tynedale Pie n Peas 10k race 2022 ("the Event) by restricting traffic on the C254 Ovington Main Road through the village from the junction of St Andrews Lane heading south-east, the C254 Ovington to Ovington, the C254 West Road and the C254 West Road to Hillcrest in Ovington ("the First Road") and the C254 Main Road, the C254 Ovingham to Wylam, the C254 Ovingham Road and the C254 Main Road, Wylam ("the Second Road"). The TTRO shall come into force in respect of the First Road at 19:15 hours on 6th July 2022 and will remain in force until 19:40 hours on 6th July 2022, in respect of the Second Road at 19:30 hours on 6th July 2022 and will remain in force until 20:15 hours on 6th July 2022, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act. An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the following:
* If travelling from Ovington, Ovingham, vehicles will be directed north to the A69;
* Vehicles travelling east will be directed along the A69 and then south along Gallowhill Lane into Ovingham; and
* If travelling from Ovingham, Wylam, vehicles will be directed north along Horsley Road, through Horsley on the B6528 and then south along Holeyn Hall Road.
All restrictions on the Road will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary. Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Road related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Road); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Road.
