London Borough of Merton Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14M1 Palestine Grove. SW19
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate a cover replacement in Palestine Grove, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic the said road.

2. During the works: -

(a) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Palestine Grove, SW19; and

(b) the one-way working in Palestine Grove would be suspended.
3. The prohibitions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Nothing in the Order would apply: -

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions at the time of any emergency; or

(d) so as to prevent vehicular egress from Palestine Grove or vehicular access to premises in or adjacent Palestine Grove, insofar as access or egress is reasonably practicable without interference with the works.
5. An alternative route for diverted traffic would be via Christchurch Road, Liberty Avenue and Willow View.

6. The Order would come into operation on Friday 8th July 2022 with the works anticipated to be carried out between 7pm on 8th July 2022 and 6am the following day or as a back-up, between 7pm on 15th July 2022 and 6am the following day. However, the Order would remain in operation for a maximum period of 3 months and its provisions would be re-introduced during that period should further works be required.
