Valley Drive, Temporary Prohibiton of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (C5055 Ulthwaite Road, Kentmere, U59i3 Valley Drive, Kendal And U5683 Charney Well Lan E, Grange Over San Ds) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Openreach to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. C5055 Ulthwaite Road Kentmere, from a point adjacent to the property known as Ulthwaite Barn, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 750m;
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Duration: From 10 July for approx. 1 day.
2. U5913 Valley Drive, Kendal, from a point approx. 45m south west of its junction with Teal Beck, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 25m;
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Valley Drive, Kendal Parks Road, Oxenholme Road, Heron Hill and Esthwaite Avenue.
Duration: From 11 July for approx. I day.
3. U5683 Charney Well Lane, Grange over Sands, from its junction with Hampsfell Road extending in a westerly direction for approx. 70m.
Alternative Route: Hampsfell Road, Grange Fell Road, Eden Mount Road and the unrestricted section of the Charney Well Lane.
Duration: From 12 July for approx. I day.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 10 July 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
