York, Multiple Traffic Notices, Prohibition of Pedestrians and Vehicles

Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 16th day of June 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) & (8). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered), (9) & (10).

(1) Millfield lane. Poppleton This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the Millfield Lane Level Crossing on Millfield Lane, Poppleton (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2200hrs on Saturday, 18 June 2022 and ending at 0630hrs on Monday, 20 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period. Vehicle access to Millfield Lane has been arranged via the bus bollards in Low Poppleton Lane.

(2) Station road level crossing. Poppleton This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through Station Road Level Crossing on Station Road, Poppleton (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2230hrs on Saturday, 18 June 2022 and ending at 0730hrs on Monday, 20 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(3) Tower street. York This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of carriageway on Tower Street, York between the roundabout controlled junction with Skeldergate Bridge and the junction with The Castle / Eye Of York (closed carriageway) during the period when surveying works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Tuesday, 21 June 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the carriageway will only be closed between midnight and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. A route for cyclists through the works will be maintained throughout the works period.

(4) Burton Stone Lane. YorkThis Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burton Stone Lane, York between its junctions with Crichton Avenue and Burton Green (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 20 June 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Sunday, 31 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(5) Manor Park Road. York This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on the north-eastern side of Manor Park Road, York between its junctions with Manor Lane and Manor Way (closed footway) during the period when footway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 20 June 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 22 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

(6) Woolnough Avenue & Carlton Avenue. York This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of footway on Woolnough Avenue & Carlton Avenue, York, (i) on the south side of Woolnough Avenue between its junction with Carlton Avenue and a location 30 metres west of said junction and (ii) on the western side of Carlton Avenue between its junction with Woolnough Avenue and a location 10 metres south east of said junction (closed footways) during the period when footway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 20 June 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 01 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

(7) Leeman Road. YorkThis Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of road on Leeman Road, York (a) between its junctions with Station Rise and Station Avenue and (b) between points 65 metres east and 35 metres west of Marble Arch Bridge (closed roads) during the period when delivery vehicles are delivering/removing large machinery to a nearby development site, commencing at 2115hrs on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Sunday, 18 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the roads will only be closed between 2115hrs and 0600hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians & vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(8) Vesper Walk. York This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Vesper Walk, York (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day.

(9) Groves Lane Footpath. York This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Groves Lane, York between its junctions with High Newbiggin Street and Lord Mayors Walk (closed road) during the period when water mains connection works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Wednesday, 29 June 2022 and ending at 2000hrs on Thursday, 30 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

(10) Holtby lane. Holtby This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Holtby Lane, Holtby between its junctions with the A166 Stamford Bridge Road and Rudcarr Lane (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2000hrs on Thursday, 30 June 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Wednesday, 06 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place overnight between 2000hrs and 0600hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
