City of York Council Notice of Making The York (Coppergate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) (Continuation! Order (No 4) 2022

City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1 J and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby gives notice that, on the 14th day of June 2022 they made an Order continuing in force The York (Coppergate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2020 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 14th day of June 2022. This is necessary to ensure that the shops within the area of the closed traffic lane can continue to operate safely.

The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles (with the exception of pedal cycles) from proceeding in the east bound traffic lane of Coppergate, York (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 15th day of June 2022 and ending at 2400hrs on the 14* day of December 2022 (Danger period) or at a time when the measures are revoked whichever is the earlier.
An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.

The Order does not prohibit works or emergency access nor does it prohibit access to premises provided such access is not prevented by on-going works.
