(Faringdon) (Speed Limits) Order 2022
NOTICE is given that on 13 June 2022 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The order which comes into force on 20 June introduces a 20mph speed limit zone within the centre of Faringdon as follows. 20mph Speed Limit (replacing the existing 30mph speed limit) leading out from the town centre to the following points:
1. A4095 Church Street - a point 17 metres northeast of its junction with Swan Lane,
2. A4095 Gloucester Street - its junction with the A417 Lechlade Road,
3. London Street - a point 6 metres east of its junction with Skinners Lane,
4. Marlborough Street - its junction with Bromsgrove,
5. Skinners Lane - its junction with Ferndale Street,
6. Southampton Street - its junction with Ferndale Street/ Hart Avenue.
Existing & new traffic calming measures will support the introduction of the zone, and these comprise of:
* Traffic calming road humps,
* a traffic priority flow,
* 90-degree bend,
* 20mph repeater signs & carriageway roundels.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Faringdon) (30 Miles Per Hour) (Speed Limit) Order 2017 is revoked/replaced. Documents giving more details are available for public inspection online by visiting:
