Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003

Notice is hereby given by Shadow Authority for Westmorland and Furness pursuant to Regulation 16 (1) of the Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 that following consideration of recommendations from an Independent Remuneration Panel the Shadow Authority has resolved to adopt a Members Allowances Scheme with effect from 9 May 2022.
The main features of the Scheme are as follows:-
- No Councillor shall receive more than one SRA;

- Dependant Carer's Allowance payable based upon a reimbursement of actual receipted costs up to £9.50 per hour up to a maximum of £2,000.00 per annum;

- No Members entitled to currently participate in the Pension Scheme;

- No Co opted Member Allowance scheme;

- 50% of the Basic and SRA allowances be paid in the 'Shadow' period.

Each Special Responsibility Allowance is set to 0 pending a review of both the Basic Allowance and Special Responsibility Allowance by the Independent Remuneration Panel as soon as possible.
