The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads In The South Lakeland Area) (Temporary Prohibition Of All Traffic) (No.5) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out resurfacing and associated highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclist) from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency personnel and emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

4. Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection wth the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 20 June 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen
months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for the durations stated
in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AN D ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. U5607 Whetstone Lane, Kendal - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(02))

From its junction with the A591, extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the C5062 Brigsteer
Road.
Alternative route:
Eastbound Vehicles - via the C5062 Brigsteer Road, Stainbank Road, Vicarage Drive, A6 Milnthorpe Road, A591 southbound to Prizet crossroads
Westbound traffic - A591 north bound, exit A6 Shenstone, A6 Milnthorpe Road, Vicarage Drive, Stainbank Road and
the C5062 Brigsteer Road.
2. C5078 Egholme to Old Scotch Road - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(03))

From its junction with the C5069 Old Scotch Road, extending in an easterly direction to its junction with the C5079.
Alternative route: via the C5069, B6254 and C5079.
3. C5089 Station Road, Holme - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(04))

From its junction with the U5431 Moss Lane, extending in a southerly to its junction with the C5089 Station Lane. Alternative route: via the Duke Street, B6384 Milnthorpe Road and Burton Road, A6070, Tanpits Lane and Station Lane.
4. U5381 Low Fellside, Middleton - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(05))

From its junction with the C5082, extending in an overall easterly direction for a distance of approx. 820 metres to Low Fellside.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
5. U5506 Dentdale - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(06))

From its junction with the U5475 Greenwell, extending in an overall southerly direction for a distance of approx. 6,200 metres to Peat Gate.
Alternative route: via the U5475, C5101, B6255 Ingleton, A65 and the unrestricted section of the U5506.
6. B6254 Oxenholme Road, Oxenholme - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-06(07))

From its junction with the Kendal Parks Road, extending in a south-easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1,000 metres to the railway bridge.
Alternative route: via the unrestricted section of the B6254 Oxenholme Road, A65 Burton Road and C5067 Helmside
Road.
7. B6254 Oxenholme Road (The Helm), Oxenholme - Approx. duration 10 days (Ref: SL22/CCC-

06(08))
From its junction with the C5067 Hayclose Lane, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 405 metres to Sun Head.
Alternative route: via the unrestricted sections of the B6254, C5106 Hophouse Lane and the A65.
