Notice of Proposals


Notice is hereby given that East Ayrshire Council proposes to make the above-named Order that would have the effect of extending the 30mph speed limit on the B7036 Barony Road, Auchinleck for a distance of 82m.

Effect That length of the B7036 Barony Road and Church

Hill in Auchinleck which extends from the south-west kerbline of its junction with Church Hill and B7083 Main Street to a point 145 metres west of the west kerbline of Pennylands Road junction with Barony Road.
Proposed new 1km total length
The speed limit extension will be supported by the provision of two additional road humps. Full details for both this speed limit and the additional road humps, including a Statement of Reasons for proposing to make this Order, are available for inspection online at

(Lugar Street, Cumnock) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022
On 14/06/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on Lugar Street, Cumnock, from its junction with Barrhill Road to the junction with Townhead Street, (except vehicles engaged on the excavation works), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.
The Order shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on 30/06/22 until 17:00 hrs on Wednesday 27/07/22 or until the works are completed whichever is earlier. Works are currently programmed to be completed by 13/07/22 and the Order will only be implemented when appropriate signs are displayed.
Emergency vehicles and vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closure will be permitted to and from their properties but not through the works site.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period. Alternative Route: via A70 Barrhill Road - Drumbrochan Road - Townhead Street.
