(Broom Road East, Newton Meams) Temporary Restriction To Use Of Road Order 2022

On the 26 May 2022 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order has been promoted to restrict vehicular access on a section of Broom Road East, Newton Mearns, from and including its junction with Waterfoot Road up to its access to Kirkhill House, in order to facilitate the essential carriageway resurfacing works within or near the road, scheduled to be carried from Monday 4 July until Friday 15 July 2022.

The Order authorises the closure of the road for the duration of the works.
vehicular access to properties within the extents of the closure may be permitted by the contractor on site only when it is possible to do so in conjunction with the works going on at the time. Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes: Phase 1: Waterfoot Road - Mearns Road -Broom Road East and vice versa; Waterfoot Road - Eaglesham Road, Greenwood Road - Mearns Road - Broom Road East and vice versa. Phase 2: Alloway Drive - Turnberry Drive - Broom Road East and vice versa.
