Cherwell District Council Notice Of Public Path Order Town And Country Planning Act, 1990, Section 257 & Paragraph 1 Of Schedule 14 Chesterton Footpath No.6 (Part) Diversion Order 2022
Cherwell District Council gives notice that it has made an Order on 26 May 2022 under section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 because it is satisfied that it is necessary to divert the footpath to which the Order relates to enable the development to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
The effect of the Order will be to divert the section of Chesterton Footpath No.6 which runs for approximately
533m and commences at OS Grid Reference SP 55102, 21479 (point A on the order map), to OS Grid Reference SP 54959, 21893 (point D) and create an alternative footpath on to
a line which runs for approximately 328m and commences at OS Grid Reference SP 55102, 21479 (point A on the order map), to OS Grid Reference SP 55270, 21701 (point K), where the footpath terminates at the A4095 as indicated on the order map. Full site descriptions of the existing and alternative footpath are shown on the schedule of the Order. A copy of the Order, Map and Explanatory Statement may be:

Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent in writing addressed to the Assistant Director of Law, Governance and Democratic Services, Legal Services (PRoW), Cherwell District Council, Bodicote House, Bodicote, Banbury, Oxon, OX15 4AA (ref: JH/AB/014271) or by email to
not later than 8 July 2022. Please clearly state the grounds on which it is made. Objections may be made on the grounds that the tests set out in the Act have not been satisfied. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are subsequently withdrawn, Cherwell District Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
