The Isle Of Wight Council (Various Streets, Isle Of Wight) (Electric Vehicle Charging Point Parking Places) (Experimental Traffic Regulation) Order No 1

2022 Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council ("the Council") in exercise of their powers under section 1,9,10,32, 45,122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act' of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991, and Section 22 of the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 ("the Regulations"), and section 87 of the Environment Act 1995 (air quality) and Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (the national air quality strategy), and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police propose to make the following Order, the effect of which will be to:

2. To Introduce an 'Electric Vehicle Recharging Point Only,

4 Hours No Return Within 4 Hours, 8am to 8pm' restriction in the following lengths of road: Seaview Road, Cowes, on the south side, from a point 46.5 metres west to a point 52.5 metres west of its junction with Maxted Close.
Trinity Road, Ventnor, on the south-east side, from a point 84.5 metres south-west to a point 90.5 metres south-west of its junction with St Boniface Road. Wykeham Road, Newport, on the west side, from a point 12.5 metres north to a point 18.5 metres north of its junction with Cypress Road. The restrictions are being proposed for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs and for any of the purposes specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of subsection (1) of section 87 of the Environment Act 1995 (air quality). This Order is being brought into operation at 0001 hours on 10 June 2022 for a period of 18 months.
The Isle of Wight Council will give consideration to the restriction after a six-month period to whether the provisions of this experimental order should be altered for a further six months or continued in force indefinitely. A copy of the draft Order, this Notice and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
