Section 16a Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Closure For Queens Jubilee Celebrations

HARROW COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that they have made a traffic order under the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that shall temporarily close the roads referred to In this notice to allow an event known as the Queens Jubilee celebrations to take place.
1. Vehicles shall be temporarily prohibited from entering or exiting the following roads between 12pm and 4pm on 3rd June 2022 on;

(a) High Street, Harrow on the Hill between its junctions with Peterborough Road and Church Hill;

(b) Church Hill at its junction with High Street, Harrow on the Hill
2. Nothing in paragraph 1 above shall apply to:-

(a) any vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer;

(c) any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to Section 66 or Section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;

(d) any vehicles used in connection with the Queens Jubilee Celebrations;

(e) residents needing to gain access to their property, as far as is practicably possible;

(f) vehicles when used in the service of a local authority in pursuance of statutory powers or duties provided that in all the circumstances it is reasonably necessary in the exercise of such powers or the performance of such duties for the vehicle to enter the restricted streets.

3. The provisions of this order will not have effect unless all the signs in accordance with the provisions of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (c) are displayed, removed or covered, or unless at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.

4. Diversion route; local diversion routes will be in place where possible.
