The County Of Cumbria (U4062 Swallowhurst And U4276 Annaside, Bootle And U4079 Chapel Brow
And The Green, Millom) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U4062 Swallowhurst, Bootle, from its junction with the A595, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 2km; Alternative Route: via the A595 and C4027.
Duration: From 6 June 2022 for approx 5 days (Ref: CO122)
2. U4079 Chapel Brow, Millom from its junction with the A595, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 500m; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U4079, A5093 and A595.
Duration: From 20 June 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref: CO123)
3. U4079 The Green Millom, from its junction with the A5093, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 2km;
There is no suitable alternative route available.
Duration: From 20 June 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref: CO124)
4. U4276 Annaside, Bootle, from its junction with the C4027, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 2.3km; There is no suitable alternative route available.
Duration: From 27 June 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref: CO125)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by
statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
(ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the
direction of a police constable in uniform; and
(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for
pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads,
or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and
only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 6 June 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
