The Borough of Watford (Watford) (Controlled Parking Zones) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Sydney Road) (Amendment) (No. 9) Order 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council, has made the above mentioned Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 45, 46, 46A, 47, 49, 51 and 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order would be to amend the existing Traffic Regulation Orders so that: Street parking is rearranged as follows to accommodate the access road junctions to new housing developments to the south of Sydney Road (former Steam Laundry site) and to the north opposite. Account is taken of the abandoned vehicle entrances.
i) On the north side of Sydney Road:

the existing residents permit parking bay will be extended to between 10 and 66 metres from the eastern bend in Sydney Road; the existing residents permit/pay & display bay will be shortened to between 91 and 123 metres from the bend; waiting will be prohibited at any time at the access road junction of the new housing development between 66 and 91 metres from the bend.
ii) On the south side of Sydney Road:

the existing residents permit/pay & display bay will be shortened to between 105 metres west of the junction with Hagden Lane and 30 metres east of the access road junction of the Laundry site housing development; the existing residents permit bay will be extended to between 30 metres west of the access road junction of the laundry site housing development to 318 metres west of the Hagden Lane junction; waiting will be prohibited at any time for 30 metres on either side of the new access road. The Order shall come into operation on Monday 6th June 2022 or on such respective dates afterwards that on the south side the works of signing and carriageway marking are completed and on the north side the works of signing and carriageway marking are completed A copy of the Order, together with the statement of reasons for making the Order and a plan showing the lengths of road to which the Order relates, can be viewed at the Customer Service Centre, Town Hall, Watford, WD17 3EZ during advertised Town Hall opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
