Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 26,h day of May 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) & (6).
(1) HESLINGTON LANE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Heslington Lane York between the projected eastern boundaries of property No's 28 & 34 (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0830hrs on Monday, 30 May 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Monday, 30 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) BEECH GROVE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Beech Grove, York between its junctions with York Road, Acomb and Woodlea Bank (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Monday, 06 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) TUDOR ROAD. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Tudor Road, York between the projected southwestern boundaries of property No's 13 and 31 (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0830hrs on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Wednesday, 01 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0830hrs and 1800hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) WIGGINTON ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the Wigginton Road Level Crossing, York (closed road) during the period when railway track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2345hrs on Wednesday, 01 June 2022 and ending at 0530hrs on Thursday, 02 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on York Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2330hrs on Friday, 03 June 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Saturday, 04 June 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(6)PICCADILLY & PAVEMENT. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of roads on Piccadilly & Pavement, York (i) on Pavement between the junctions with Piccadilly / Coppergate / Parliament Street and The Shambles and (ii) on Piccadilly between the junctions with Pavement / Coppergate / Parliament Street and Merchantgate (closed roads) during the period when drone surveying works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0400hrs on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 and ending at 0530hrs on Tuesday, 31 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
