(Various Roads) (Ride Classique UCI Stage 2) (Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Clearway) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its power under Section 14(1) and16A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has made the above Order to facilitate the holding of the Ride UCI Stage 2 Special Event 2022. Effect of the order:

1. To Temporarily close the following lengths of roads in the Borough of Chelmsford, under Section 16A-C of the Road Traffic Act 1984, as specified below between the hours of 05:00 to 17:00 (as signed on site)

6. To introduce a temporary Clearway (No Stopping at Any Time) on both sides of carriageway on all roads specified in the above schedules. Signs will be installed indicating when the Clearway will be in force.



The Essex County Council (Epping Forest District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement) (Consolidation) Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the said lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement) (Consolidation) Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Stopping at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the said lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The Essex County Council (Woodhall Hill & Hollow Lane, Broomfield/Chignal) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 2022 shall be temporarily suspended for the duration of the event. The temporary stopping restrictions are scheduled to commence on 28 May 2022. The closures are also scheduled to commence on 28 May 2022 between the hours 05:00 and 17:00 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, the closures are required for the safety of the public whilst the Ride London-Classique UCI Stage 2 Special Event 2022 takes place.

Provisions relating to speed limits either by Order or by virtue of street lighting (Restricted Roads) are hereby suspended on the roads specified in the Schedules above hereto in so far as they relate to any vehicle used in conjunction with the Ride Classique UCI Stage 2 Special Event.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into effect 28 May 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months

or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
