NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257 WILDLIFE COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981, SECTION 53A (2) (FOOTPATH 9 ECCLESHILL) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2022

On 26th May 2022 Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council confirmed without modifications the above order made under section 257 Town and Country Planning Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath as described in Schedule 1 to this Notice onto the route described in Schedule 2 and as shown on the Order Map.

A copy of the Order and Map may be examined at the Public Notice Boards outside Blackburn Town Hall and Darwen Town Hall free of charge. Copies of the Order may be purchased at the price of 50p, please make a request to

The order comes into force on 12th July 2022, but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 26th May 2022 make an application to the High Court. SCHEDULE 2 - LINE OF DIVERSIONARY ROUTE

A path 1.8m wide from Roman Road at Davy Field Farm West, Point A (SD 70090 24209), in a north-westerly direction for approximately 25 metres to Point B (SD 70072 24230) then heading in a south-westerly direction for approximately 148 metres to Point C (SD 69963 24137) and then in a generally westerly direction to Lower Eccleshill Road (SD 69067 24233) a length of approximately 965m.
