THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH LAKELAND) (CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF SPEED LIMITS) (ORDER 2018) VARIATION ORDER (NO.7)

1. Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that on 17 May 2022 it made above Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.



2. The Order will come into operation on 2 June 2022 and its effect will be to: -



(a) Extend the current 40 mph speed limit at Lowick Green along the A5092 in a southerly direction, and then to continue the 40 mph speed limit through Penny Bridge to its junction with the A590 at Greenodd;



(b) Extend the current 30 mph on the A6 Milnthorpe Road, Kendal, to a point 40m south of the centre of its junction with Helsington Lane;



(c) Amend the current 40mph to commence further south as a result of the extended 30mph speed limit extension in (b) above, so that it will now commence from a point 40m south of its junction with Helsington Lane in a south-westerly direction for a distance of 134m;



(d) Extend the current 20 mph speed limit on the C5032 at Scales; and



(e) Replace an existing section of 30 mph speed limit with a 20 mph on the C5077 at Gatebeck.

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 17 May 2022 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
