PUBLIC NOTICE – Cultural Exemption re. VAT

Fishguard Invasion Centre Trust Limited and Pembrokeshire County Council are intending to implement an admission fee for the Last Invasion Tapestry in Fishguard Town Hall. The fee was authorised by the Trustees and PCC Cabinet in February 2020, but delayed by the pandemic.

Adults will be charged £3 although entry is free if they bring a valid Pembrokeshire Libraries card. Entry is free for children aged 17 and under.

Charting the last invasion of mainland Britain in 1797, the tapestry is considered to be a cultural exhibition and as such, both above named parties are seeking to exercise a ‘cultural exemption’ from paying VAT.

Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Canolfan Goresgyniad Abergwaun Cyfyngedig a Chyngor Sir Penfro yn bwriadu codi ffi fynediad ar gyfer yr arddangosfa o’r Tapestri Goresgyniad Olaf yn Neuadd y Dref Abergwaun. Awdurdodwyd y ffi gan yr Ymddiriedolwyr a Chabinet Cyngor Sir Penfro ym mis Chwefror 2020, ond fe’i gohiriwyd oherwydd y pandemig.

Codir £3 ar oedolion ond gallant gael mynediad am ddim os byddant yn dangoscerdyn Llyfrgelloedd Sir Benfro dilys. Mae mynediad am ddim i blant 17 oed ac iau.

Mae’r tapestri, sy’n dangos y goresgyniad olaf o dir mawr Prydain ym 1797, yn cael ei ystyried yn arddangosfa ddiwylliannol, ac felly mae’r ddau barti a enwyd yn ceisio arfer ‘eithriad diwylliannol’ rhag talu treth ar werth (TAW).
