Road Traffic Restrictions, M6 Motorway J17-19 & Knutsford Services

THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 17-19 SLIP ROADS & KNUTSFORD SERVICES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the Borough of Cheshire East, in the County of Cheshire, to enable resurfacing works, drainage repair works, and other general maintenance; to be carried out in safety. The Order will ban all traffic from the following sections of the M6 Motorway:
i. the northbound exit and entry slip roads at J18;

ii. the southbound exit slip road at J18;

iii. the southbound entry slip road at J18;

iv. the southbound exit slip road at J19

v. the southbound entry slip road at J19 (including the free flow link from the A556 southbound);

vi. the southbound exit and entry slip roads at Knutsford Services;

vii. the southbound entry slip road at Knutsford Services;

viii. the northbound emergency refuge area, located 203 metres north of Brindley Lane Bridge;

ix. the northbound emergency refuge area, located 181 metres north of Bradwell Bridge;

x. the southbound emergency refuge area, located 1,050 metres south of Hulme Lane Bridge;

xi. the southbound emergency refuge area, located 249 metres south of King's Lane Bridge.

Prohibitions i.-xi. are expected to take place overnight between 20:00 and 05:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Monday 6 June 2022 and ending on Friday 29 July 2022. Prohibition iii. is expected to take place during five consecutive weekend periods starting at 20:00 on Friday evenings and ending at 05:00 on Monday mornings, as follows:-Friday 17 June 2022 - Monday 20 June 2022; Friday 24 June 2022 - Monday 27 June 2022; Friday 1 July 2022 - Monday 4 July 2022; Friday 8 July 2022 - Monday 11 July 2022; Friday 15 July 2022 - Monday 18 July 2022. However, works may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights or during subsequent continuous periods or until completed.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 5 June 2022 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information contact
