HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 CITY OF BRADFORD METROPOLITAN DISTRICT COUNCIL NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.97 (KEIGHLEY), BATES BARN, BURY LANE, WEST MORTON, KEIGHLEY
On 5th May 2022, the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to extinguish and divert that part of the Public Footpath No.97 (Keighley) as shown marked bold black (two links) on the attached plan no. 66666/T258/K97/DH Order Plan annexed to this Order. Public Footpath No.97 (Keighley) commences at Point A and C on Bury Lane and runs in a generally easterly direction to point B. This path has a recorded width of 1.2 metres, a combined length of approximately 74 metres (AB is 36 metres and CB is 38 metres) and a grass and stoned surface. There are 2 field gates on section AB and one stone step stile on section CB as shown on the Order map.
The new section of Public Footpath (Keighley) as shown marked dashed black on the attached plan will commence at Point B and run in a generally southerly and then westerly direction for 51 metres to Point D on Bury Lane. This section of new footpath will be provided at a recorded width of 2 metres, with a grassed and stone surface with 1.2-metre-wide gaps provided at Point B and D (marked as GAP on the plan). At the point the path turns from south to west there is a low level concrete structure that will result in the path width narrowing to a 1.5 metre width over a stretch of 5.5 metres.

The Order comes into force on 3rd June 2022, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 5th May 2022 make an application to the High Court.
