M6 Motorway J26-45, Temporary Traffic Restrictions

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)(a) & 14(7) THE M6 MOTORWAY (JUNCTIONS 26 - 45 CARRIAGEWAYS & SLIP & LINK ROADS) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the M6 Motorway, in the Counties of Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester, to enable maintenance and improvement works; to be carried out in safety. The effect of the Order will be to impose restrictions and prohibitions on the following lengths of carriageway:
(i) the M6 Motorway, in both directions, between Junctions 26 and 45;

(ii) all slip and link roads leading to and from the lengths of carriageway described above;

(iii) the Grey Moor Roundabout;

(iv) the Rose Hill Roundabout;

(v) Bamber Bridge Interchange Roundabout. The works are expected to take place overnight between 19:00 and 06:00 (07:00 on Saturday and Sunday mornings) during a period starting on Wednesday 1 June 2022 and ending on Friday 23 December 2022. The duration of each restriction or prohibition will vary depending upon the nature of the work being undertaken on each occasion. During any road closures traffic will be diverted via alternative junctions of the M6 Motorway and local roads. These diversions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the area.

The restrictions will not apply to emergency services or special-forces vehicles, and the prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, winter maintenance, or traffic officer vehicles. The restrictions and prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
