PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN CROYDON
THE CROYDON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF STOPPING-LOADING AND WAITING) AND (FREE PARKING PLACES) (NO.9) ORDER 2022
THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO.9) ORDER 2022

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council, on 09 May 2022 made the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers.

2. The general effect of the Orders will be:

a) To introduce "at any time" double yellow line waiting restrictions in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

b) To update the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders so as to accurately represent the new arrangements as they exist on site.

3. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 16 May 2022, and of all associated Orders can be inspected by appointment with the Parking Design Team from 9am to 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at the "Access Croydon" Facility, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA (telephone 020 8726 6000 and ask for Parking Design).

4. Alternatively, copies of the Orders can be requested via email or post from the Parking Design Team. Email: parkina.desian@crovdon.aov.uk. Postal address: Parking Design Team, 6th Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CRO 1 EA.

5. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

SCHEDULE

(Introducing double yellow line waiting restrictions "at any time")
Birchanger Road, South Norwood
The south-west side, amending the existing double yellow lines at the junction with Becket Close so that they terminate 10 metres north-west of the "School Keep Clear" markings outside St. Thomas Becket Primary School.
Downlands Road, Purley
The south-east side, from the north-eastern boundary of No. 84 Downlands Road north-eastwards for a distance of 19 metres.
Ena Road, Norbury
Both sides, for a distance of 7 metres either side of its junction with Pollards Wood Road.
Pollards Wood Road, Norbury
Both sides, for a distance of 7 metres either side of its junction with Ena Road.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED. THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS FURZE ROAD. THORNTON HEATH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to a water service pipe on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Furze Road, Thornton Heath.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place the carriageway and south-eastern footway of Furze Road will be closed between the junction with Norbury Road and the common boundary of Nos. 56 and 58 Furze Road.

3. The Order will come into operation on the 17 May 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

4. During the works the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be via Furze Road, Norbury Road, Heath Road and reversed, or via Norbury Road, Beulah Crescent, Beulah Road, Parchmore Road, Heath Road and reversed. Pedestrians will be diverted to the opposite footway.

5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. The prohibitions will not apply to any vehicle or person involved in carrying out the said works, to any vehicle used for police, ambulance or fire brigade purposes, or to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

(SPECIAL EVENTS) ACT 1994 TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER ABERDEEN ROAD. PARKER ROAD. SOUTHBRIDGE ROAD AND SOUTH END CROYDON FOOD & MUSIC FESTIVAL ASSOCIATED RESTRICTIONS

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate the Croydon Food & Music Festival they intend to make a Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to:

(a) introduce a road closure in South End, between its junctions with Aberdeen Road and Coombe Road;

(b) suspend the one-way working in Parker Road;

(c) suspend parking and introduce waiting and loading restrictions between 7am and Midnight in: -

(i) Aberdeen Road;

(ii) Southbridge Road;

(iii) South End (between its junctions with Aberdeen Road and Coombe Road).

Note: Parking within Spices Yard car park will also be suspended.

2. The Order will come into effect on 26 June 2022 and will remain in force for one day.

3. Diversions for displaced traffic will be as detailed below.

- From South Croydon: Via Aberdeen Road, St Peters Road and Coombe Road.

- From Central Croydon: Via Lower Coombe Street and Southbridge Road.

4. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(b) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cleaning works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Beauchamp Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place: -

a) Beauchamp Road will be closed between its junction with Moffat Road and the common boundary of Nos. 54 and 56 Beauchamp Road.

b) Parking within the above section of the road will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply "at any time".

3. Whilst the closure is in force the diversion routes for traffic will be via Moffat Road, Howberry Road and Spa Hill and reversed, or via Beauchamp Road, Grange Road, Beulah Hill and Spa Hill and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 13 June 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED. THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS EDITH ROAD & SELHURST ROAD. SOUTH NORWOOD
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate an examination of the railway bridge they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic in Edith Road and Selhurst Road, South Norwood.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:-

(a) Edith Road will be closed at its junction with Selhurst Road;

(b) Selhurst Road will be closed between its junction with Edith Road and Selhurst Station.

3. Whilst the works are taking place access will be maintained for residents of Edith Road. The diversion routes for other vehicular traffic will be as described below:-

(i) Northbound: Selhurst Road A213 - High Street A213 - South Norwood Hill A215 - Grange Road A212 - Whitehorse Road A212 - Northcote Road A213 - Selhurst Road A213.

(ii) Southbound: Selhurst Road A213 - Northcote Road A213 - Windmill Road A213 - St James's Road A213 - Sumner Road A213 - Mitcham Road A236 - Lombard Roundabout - Thornton Road A23 - London Road A23 - Streatham High Road A23 - Streatham Common North A214 - Crown Lane A214 - Crown Dale A214 - Central Hill A214 - Church Road A212 - South Norwood Hill A215 - High St A213 -Selhurst Road A213.

(iii) Edith Road - Dagnall Park - Northcote Road - Selhurst Road - vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on the 02 June 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out over one night, between 10pm and 6am. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

5. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

6. The prohibitions will not apply to any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works, or to any vehicle being used for police, ambulance or fire service purposes.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate remedial carriageway reinstatement works they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to restrict traffic in Godric Crescent, New Addington.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Godric Crescent will be closed between its junction with Windham Avenue and the western boundary of No. 44 Windham Avenue.

3. During the closure the alternative route for traffic will be via Windham Avenue and Godric Crescent and vice versa.

4. The Order will come into operation on 06 June 2022 and it is expected that the works will be carried out within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(b) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works;

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to install a new gas service they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Kidderminster Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Kidderminster Road will be closed between its junction with St James's Road and the south-western boundary of No. 130 St James's Road.

3. Whilst the Order remains in force the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signed.

- Via St James' Road and London Road;

- Via St James' Road, Hogarth Crescent, Whitehorse Road, St James' Road, Oakfield Road, London Road and Kidderminster Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 30 May 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 03 June 2022. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works;

(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC LOWER COOMBE STREET. CROYDON

1. Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cover replacement works on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Lower Coombe Street.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Lower Coombe Street will be closed at its junction with Southbridge Place.

3. During the works the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Lower Coombe Street, Park Lane, the Croydon Flyover and the slip road off the A232, as appropriately signed. Egress from Southbridge Place onto Lower Coombe Street will be maintained.

4. The Order will come into operation on the 30 May 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be carried out within approximately one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) A vehicle being used to carry out the works;

(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to a water valve, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Oaks Road.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Oaks Road will be closed between its junction with Coombe Lane/Coombe Road and the entrance to Coombe Lane car park.

3. Whilst the closure is in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Oaks Road West, Upper Shirley Road South and Shirley Hill Road West.

4. The Order will come into operation on 30 May 2022 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed 01 June 2022. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced if further works are required.

5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said works;

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
