14(1) & (7) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, Pear Tree Interchange area A44 and A4260 (30 & 50mph Speed Limits) Date of Order: 23 May 2022 Coming into force: 1 June 2022 This Order is introduced as part of the North Oxford Corridor improvements scheme which is anticipated to be completed 31 March 2023. The existing 60 & 70 mph national speed limits applicable to the following sections of roads will be reduced for works safety:
1. A44 Wolvercote roundabout to Pear Tree roundabout -70mph to 30mph;

2. A44 Pear Tree to (Frieze Way) Loop Farm roundabout -70mph to 30mph;

3. A44 Loop Farm roundabout to Cassington Road roundabout, Yarnton - 60mph to 30 mph, and road lanes narrowed for works purposes;

4. A44/A34 Pear Tree interchange roundabout - to 30mph;

5. A4260 Frieze Way dual-carriageway, approach to Loop Farm roundabout from Kidlington - 70mph to 50mph;

6. A34 slip roads, southbound and northbound exit slip roads - 70mph to 50mph.

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
The relevant parts of the Oxfordshire County Council (A44 Oxford to Woodstock Road) (Speed Limits) Order 2016 shall be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref. T9745/AC)
