York, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 5" day of May 2022 in respect of the location numbered (1) (2), (3), (4) & (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (6).
(1) DON AVENUE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Don Avenue, York between its junction with Eason View and the projected north-eastern boundary of property No. 31 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0730hrs on Monday, 09 May 2022 and ending at 1730hrs on Tuesday, 10 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) CLIFTON INGS PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 26/4/10. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Clifton Ings Public Right Of Way 26/4/10, York between its junction with A19 Shipton Road and the junction with National Cycle Network Route 65 (closed footpath) during the period when flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 09 May 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Wednesday, 09 November 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) MISCELLANEOUS EVENTS. YORK This Order imposes traffic restrictions on roads and lengths of roads in the District of York, during the period commencing on Wednesday, 11 May 2022 and ending on Thursday, 11 November 2023 associated with the events & locations listed below, taking place at an off-road location to avoid danger or the likelihood of danger arising to persons or other traffic using the various roads.
LOCATIONS & EVENTS The Knavesmire Area, York (York Racecourse Events); Esplanade, York (Dragon Boat Race River Ouse); Upper Poppleton (Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate); Upper Poppleton (Sports Day)
(4) KNAVESMIRE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding in (a) Green Lane Footpath No. 46/26 and (b) York Footpath No. 46/30 (closed footpaths) to the extent that the said footpaths extend across the width of the Knavesmire Racecourse except that this prohibition will not apply to a pedestrian or vehicle proceeding other than during a period when a horse race is in progress. This is to ensure the safety of users. The Order will come into effect on Wednesday, 11 May 2022 and end on Saturday, 8 October 2022.
(5) BACK LANE BETWEEN FRANCES STREET AND AMBROSE STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Back Lane between Frances Street and Ambrose Street, York between its junction with Frances Street and a location 18 metres south-west of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 09 May 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Monday, 09 May 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(6) MONKS CROSS DRIVE. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Monks Cross Drive, York between its junction with Rose Street and a location approximately 45 metres north of said junction (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2030hrs on Monday, 16 May 2022 and ending at 0500hrs on Saturday, 19 March 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be close between 2230hrs and 0500hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
