(Genesis Way and Park Road, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 29/4/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 840 metres of Genesis Way between Park Road and 'Tcsco' Roundabout, and also up to 280 metres of Park Road between number 38 and the egress from Park Lea, Consett to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the southern side of the closure from Genesis Way southerly and north easterly on A692 Rotary Way and northerly on B6308 Medomsley Road and turning westerly onto B6322 John Street, Victoria Street and Bertha Street to the junction with Park Road to the north eastern side of the closure, and vice versa (via Newmarket Street). Additionally from the north western side of the closures via B6322 Laburnum Avenue, easterly on A691 Durham Road and southerly on B6308 Medomsley Road leading to the above diversion route and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 13/5/22 from 9am to 3pm daily and are anticipated to be completed in 13 working days excluding any working on 21st and 22nd May 2022. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
