(Laybys At Rokeby And Darlington) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited has made an Order on the A66
Trunk Road, in the Unitary Authority of Darlington
and County Durham, to enable abnormal loads
to be held in advance of the A1M contraflow
works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on
Saturday 30 April 2022 for 3 months, or until
completed.
The effect of the Order will be to close, for 24 hours a day, the layby adjacent to the A66:
(i) eastbound carriageway approximately 235 metres east of Thorpe Grange Farm Junction, Rokeby, which will be used as an abnormal load holding area; and
(ii) westbound carriageway approximately 440 metres east of Blands Corner Roundabout, Darlington, which will be used as an abnormal load holding area.
Traffic management will be in force
24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate
the extent of the prohibitions (which will
not apply to emergency service vehicles or
vehicles being used in connection with the
said works or for winter maintenance or traffic
officer purposes). The Order comes into force
on 29 April 2022 and has a maximum duration
of eighteen months.
