Beamish, Temporary Byway Closure

(Byway Number 62 Stanley Parish, Beamish) (Temporary Byway Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 22/4/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 1.14 kilometres of Byway Number 62 that extends north and west between Mahogany Cottages and the access to Beamish Hall Hotel, Beamish to enable vegetation pruning adjacent to power cables works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the southern side of the closure from Beamish westerly via A693, turning north westerly on C128 to Shield Row onto A6076 then north easterly onto Beamishburn Road then easterly to the northern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 5/5/22 from 9am and are anticipated to be completed in 7 hours. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
