The A40 Trunk Road (Wilton To England/Wales Border)
(Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A40 Trunk Road, between Wilton and Ganarew, in the County of Herefordshire, to allow road making, stud renewal and general maintenance works to be carried out. The effect of the Order will be to -
(1) close, in phases -
(a) the westbound carriageway of the A40 from its roundabout junction with the A49 and the B4260 Wilton Road, at Wilton (Wilton Roundabout), to its junction with the unnamed road leading towards Whitchurch Fire Station, at Whitchurch;
(b) any gap in the central reservation of the length of the A40 described at (1)(a) above;
(c) any layby located adjacent to the westbound or eastbound carriageways of the A40 between Wilton Roundabout, and the England/Wales border, at Ganarew; and
(2) prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving the westbound or eastbound carriageways of the A40 between Wilton Roundabout and the England/Wales border, at Ganarew, at the junction with any side road.
The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Tuesday 10 May 2022 and continue for approximately three weeks. The layby closures will be in operation for 24 hours per day starting from 06:00 hours on Tuesday 10 May 2022 and will continue for the duration of the works. The Order will come into force on
9 May 2022.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works will be exempt from the closures and prohibition. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Diversion routes via Hawthorn Road, Morse Road, Drybrook Road, the A4136, the A466, the B4164, the A4137, Goodrich, Glewstone, Wellsbrook Lane and the A49 will be signed. ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363)
has made an Order on the A40 Trunk Road, in the District of the County of Herefordshire, to enable rock cutting and remediation work to be carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to impose a 50 miles per hour speed restriction on the eastbound carriageway of the A40 from a point 400 metres northeast of the tip of the nosing of its junction with the exit to Goodrich, at Goodrich Cross, to a point 40 metres northeast of the centreline of its junction with Glewstone, at Little Weir End. The speed limit is currently in force under the powers of a Section 14(2) notice and is expected to continue, 24 hours per day, for a further seven weeks. The Order will come into
force on 2 May 2022.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance and special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction.
