The Grove, Lowton - Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.530) Order 2022 which will come into operation on
23rd May 2022.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
* Slag Lane, Lowton, Northeast side, from a point 10 metres north of its junction with The Grove to a point 10 metres south of its junction with The Grove

* The Grove, Lowton, Both sides, from its junction with Slag Lane to a point 10 metres southeast of its junction with Slag Lane

A copy of the Order and of the relevant map may be requested by emailing S.Eccles-Churton@ wigan.gov.uk
Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the ground -
(a) that it is not within the powers of Section 1

of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984; or the Traffic Management Act 2004 or
(b) that any requirement of the said Section 1, or of Part III of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or of any regulations made under the said Part III of Schedule 9 or of any requirement of the 2004 Act, has not been complied with, may within six weeks of 21st April 2022 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
