M20 And M25 Motorways And A282, A2 And A20 Trunk Roads Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the M25 and M20 Motorways and the A282, A2 and A20 Trunk Roads in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order will be to authorise the phased overnight closure of: -
1. the clockwise carriageway of the M25 between Junction 3 (M20 Junction 1/A20) and Junction 4 (A21/A224);

2. the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 and A282 between Junction 3 (M20 Junction 1/A20 and Junction 1B (A225/A296);

3. the clockwise carriageway of the A282 between Junction 1B

(A225/A296) and Junction 2 (A2);
4. both carriageways of the A2 between Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2) and Dartford Heath Interchange (A2018);

5. all slip and link roads leading to and from these lengths of carriageway;

6. the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 via the roundabout at Junction 3 (M20 Junction 1/A20);

7. the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M20 and A20 via the roundabout at M20 Junction 1 (M25 Junction 3);

8. the road connecting to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 from the London-bound carriageway of the M20 at M25 Junction 3

(M20 Junction 1/A20);
9. the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the M25 and

A282 via the roundabout at Junction 2 (A2);
10. the roads connecting the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A2) to and from the roundabout at Princes Road

Interchange (A225/A296);
11. the road leading from the clockwise carriageway of the A282 to the link road connecting the roundabout at Princes Road Interchange

(A225/A296) to the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A2);
12. the road connecting to the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 from the clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2/A282);

13. the road connecting the London-bound carriageway of the A2 to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Darenth Interchange

(M25 Junction 2/A282); and
14. all of the roads leading to and from both carriageways of the A2 to and from the roundabout at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2).

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge, electrical, carriageway, inspections and surveys and all associated works.
It is expected that the work will last for approximately 14 months starting on or after Friday 29th April 2022. The overnight closures will take place between (maximum period):

Monday - Thursdays 22:00 - 05:30 Fridays 23:00 - 06:00

Saturdays 22:00 - 06:00

Sundays 22:30 - 05:30

The Order will come into force on 28th April 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete. Traffic affected by the closure will be diverted via other junctions of the M20, M25, A282, A2 and the A20 or by using the A224 and the distributor roads connecting the roundabout at Junction 1B to the roundabout at Junction 2.
The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
