Notice of the making of a Definitive Map Modification Order

Public Footpaths Westplt Strensall Modification Order 2022

The above Order, made on 8 March 2022, if confirmed as made, will modify
the definitive map and statement for the area by adding 15 public footpaths as
described:
Strensall 22. From Haxby Moor Road bridge along the top of the flood bank on the eastern side of the River Foss to the railway bridge (SE 6263 6056 to SE 6257 6003)
Strensall 23. From Towthorpe Road bridge along the eastern bank of the River Foss Haxby Moor Road bridge (SE 6211 5914 to SE 6262 6054) Strensall 24. From near Haxby Moor Road bridge towards the River Foss (SE 6264 6055 to SE 6262 6054)
Strensall 25. From the eastern bank of the River Foss to the railway (SE 6256 6050 to SE 6262 6007)
Strensall 26. From Creaser Close to the River Foss flood bank (SE 6260 6043 to SE 6253 6046)
Strensall 27. From the chicane at Creaser Close west to the River Foss flood bank (SE 6259 6043 to SE 6252 6043)
Strensall 28. across the open space between Middlecroft Drive and Westplt Lane (SE 6270 6020 to SE 6260 6022)
Strensall 30. heading west between no. 38 and 40 Westpit Lane.to the River Foss (SE 6259 6023 to SE 6249 6020)
Strensall 31. from Middlecroft Drive near the footbridge along the side of the railway to the River Foss (SE 6286 6024 to SE 6256 6005) Strensall 32. from Middlecroft Drive towards the railway (SE 6271 6019 to SE 6275 6016)
Strensall 33. from Wood Close playing field to Westplt Lane (SE 6274 6029 to SE 6270 6038)
Strensall 34. From Its junction with footpath Strensall 25 towards the railway bridge (SE 6259 6009 to SE 6258 6004)
Strensall 35. along the higher flood bank of the River Foss south of the railway bridge (SE 6258 6001 to SE 6271 5973)
Strensall 36. from Chaldon Close westwards to the River Foss (SE 6272 5985 to SE 6268 5985)
Strensall 37. from the chicanes at Chaldon Close north to the River Foss (SE 6272 5985 to SE 6265 5991).

until 8 June 2022. Alternatively you may write to the Rights of Way Officer at City of York Council, West Offices, Station Rise, York, Y01 6GA requesting a copy of the Order. There Is no charge for this service.
Any representation or objection to the Order must be sent in writing to "the Rights of Way Officer, City of York Council, West Offices, Station Rise, York, Y01 6GA", or by emailing

and state the grounds on which it is made. Please state clearly which paths you are referring to. It must reach the council no later than 8 June 2022.
Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and will come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received will be disclosed to Interested parties, Including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of It, or If any so made are withdrawn, the Council of the City of York, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State or part of It if the Authority has by Notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 may itself confirm the Order or that part of the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, In whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
