Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Temporary Traffic Order -Ship Street, Brighton
1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-
(a) The temporary night time closure of Ship Street at its junction with Duke Street to its junction with Union Street between 19:00 hours - 05:00 hours.
(b)To maintain access the existing One-Way Traffic Orders will be suspended on the following roads between 19:00 hours -05:00 hours:
i. Ship Street from its junction with Union Street to its junction with Kings Road (A259)
ii Middle Street from its junction with Boyces Street to its junction with Duke Street
iii. Duke Street from its junction with Middle Street to its junction with Ship Street
2. The Order is necessary to allow gas connection works to take place in the carriageway
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
4. This Order comes into force on 9th May 2022 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed which is estimated to be 14th May 2022.
