(A689 West Road and Peases Way, Crook) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 20/4/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on A689 West Road Roundabout including 385 metres extending westwards and 115 metres extending southwards, Crook to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure from A690 Commercial Street southerly via B6298 New Road to the junction with A689 leading to the southern side of the closure and vice versa, or continuing southerly on A689 to Howden le Wear then north westerly via the unclassified road leading to Fir Tree and continuing north westerly on A68 to Harperley roundabout then easterly on A689 to the western side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 23/4/22 from 7am and 7pm on weekend days and 9am and 3pm on weekdays and are anticipated to be completed in 7 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
