? Guiseley School which is a Community School located at Fieldhead Road, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 8DT;

? Guiseley Infant and Nursery School which is a Community School located at Oxford Road, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 9DA ;

? Queensway Primary School which is a Community School located at Coppice Wood Avenue, Yeadon, LS19 7LF;

? Rawdon Littlemoor Primary School which is a Community School located at New Road Side, Rawdon, LS19 6DD;

? Rufford Park Primary School which is a Community School located at

Rufford Avenue, Yeadon, LS19 7QR;
? Tranmere Park Primary School which is a Community School located at Ridge Close, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 8JJ;

? Yeadon Westfield Infants School which is a Community School located at Westfield Grove, Yeadon, LS19 7LY;

? Yeadon Westfield Junior School which is a Community School located at New Road, Yeadon, LS19 7HW.

The proposed alteration is to change each of the schools' category from Community to Foundation and together with one or more of the proposed partners to acquire a trust established otherwise than under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998.
The proposed name of the Trust will be the Aireborough Learning Partnership - a Co-operative Trust and the proposed implementation date is 1st January 2014. The Trust does not already act as a foundation for any other school.
The proposed members of the Trust are:
? Leeds Local Authority Council (1 Trustee)

? Rawdon St Peter's CofE Primary School (1 Trustee)

? The Co-operative Movement, initially represented by the Co-operative College (1 Trustee)

? Each of the schools shall appoint 2 Trustees, namely the Head teacher and Chair of Governors (or nominee), at each of Guiseley School, Guiseley Infant and Nursery School, Queensway Primary School, Rawdon Littlemoor Primary School, Rufford Park Primary School, Tranmere Park Primary School, Yeadon Westfield Infants School, and Yeadon Westfield Junior School.

In addition learners at the school, parents, staff, members of the local community and local community organisations will be able to become members of the Trust. The Trust will have a Stakeholder Forum composed of members, which will be able to appoint 2 of the Trust's trustees. As the Trust develops the Trust will welcome other schools joining the Trust.
The rationale for acquiring the Trust, the contribution it will make, and the direction it will provide to the schools can be summarised as follows. By developing an ethos of co-operation and local democracy, our Trust will be inclusive, community focused and centred on working together to raise levels of achievement and aspirations for children, young people and their families. Through a broadly based governance and membership model where learners, parents and community representatives are empowered in contributing to shaping the work of the Trust, we will foster values of self-help and self-responsibility. Raising levels of achievement and attainment lie at the heart of our vision, and our Trust will cultivate humanity in an ethical, co-operative and socially responsible way so as to promote social cohesion.
The Trust will work closely with all relevant communities to further raise aspiration and create opportunities and contribute fully to the life of these communities.
The creation of the Trust will provide a strong and well-tested legal entity through which to collaborate with our partners for the benefit of our learners. The values and ethical principles of the Co-operative Movement, especially the ideals of self help and social responsibility, as well as active membership, will underpin the work of the schools - and the Trust
This notice is an extract from the complete proposal. Copies of the full proposals can be obtained from the office of any of the schools or from the schools by writing to the Governing Body (address above) or through the schools websites.
