The County Of Cumbria (U2633 Scawfell Avenue And U2568 Lorton Avenue, Workington) (Temporary Traffic Regaulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Northern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains replacement ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to: -
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding other than in a north easterly direction along that section of the U2622 Scawfell Avenue, Workington from its junction with Lorton Avenue, extending for its entire length.

A suitable alternative route for south west bound vehicles will be signed and available via Newlands Lane and Hawkshead Avenue. Duration: from 2 May 2022 for approx. 5 weeks.
2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and from loading or unloading at any time, on any day (including disabled blue badge holders), along that section of the U2568 Lorton Avenue, Workington (north side) from its {unction with Hawkshead Avenue, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 30m.

Duration: from 23 May 2022 for approx, 2 weeks. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

The Order will come into operation on 2 May 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
