(Oxford Town & Gown 10k Run) (Special Event) Order 2022
NOTICE is hereby given that on 3 May 2022 Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This Order, which will be in force for the event on Sunday 8 May is being made for the event (starting at 10am) and is promoted by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, 61A Great Suffolk Street, London, SE1 OBU. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicles for public safety reasons from driving or parking in the following roads between approximately 8am and 12 noon:
Blackhall Road, Bradmore Road, Brasenose Lane, Broad Street, Catte Street, Cornmarket Street, Crick Road, Fyfield Road, High Street (except buses and taxis allowed westbound only), Holywell Street, Jowett Walk, Keble Road, Longwall Street, Magdalen Street East, Mansfield Road, Market Street, Museum Road, New College Lane, Norham Gardens, Norham Road, Parks Road, Queens Lane, Radcliffe Square, Ship Street, South Parks Road, St. Cross Road, Turl Street.
Areas of permitted parking in some of the above roads will also be temporarily suspended by street notices displayed. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for vehicles engaged in the setting up, management and safety purposes of the event.
Alternative routes for traffic affected by the closure are via the Oxford Ring Road, Marston Ferry Road, Marston Road from the north; and via Iffley Road, Donnington Bridge Road and Abingdon Road from the south and east, and vice versa.
The provisions of the Oxfordshire County Council (City of Oxford) (Central Area) (Traffic Management) (Consolidation) Order 2003 (as amended) which prohibit entry to Turl Street from High Street and to Keble Road from Banbury Road will be temporarily suspended to provide for controlled access.
