Blackmoss, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic

The County Of Cumbria (U532i Blackmoss, Near Ings, A693 Coniston Avenue, Coniston And A591 Rydal Road, Ambleside) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria County Council to carry out resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U5321 Blackmoss, near Ings from a point approx. 220m south or its junction with the A591, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 680m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5321 Blackmoss, Ings Road and the A591.
2. A593 Coniston Avenue, Coniston, from its junction with the Shepherds Bridge Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 530m.
Alternative Route: via the A593, B2586 and the B5285.
3. A591 Rydal Road, Ambleside from its junction with Smithy Brow, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 320m.
Alternative Route: via the A591, A66, A5091, A592, A593 and A591 Wansfell Road.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall: (i)Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and (ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and (iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

quoting the reference SL22/701. The Order will come into operation on 20 April 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required within the 2 month period from 20 April 2022 with each closure taking approx. 1 day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
