The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads In The South Lakeland Area) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) (No.3) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out surface dressing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 24 April 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that each restriction will only be required for 1 day within the 3 month period from 24 April 2022, and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. From its junction with Kentmere Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 580m There is no suitable alternative route available.
2. B6254 near Oxenholme (M6 Overbridge)
From its junction with Hayclose Lane, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1200m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B6254, A65, B6446, U5406 and the B6254 Kirkby Lonsdale.
3. U5367 Green Lane, Old Town
From its junction with the B6254, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 480m.
Alternative Route: via the U5364, U5368 and B6254.
4. U5436 Dallam Tower, Milnthorpe
From its junction with the B5282, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 310m. Alternative Route: via the B5282, A6, C5097, C5095 and U5435.
5. C5022 Roger Ground, Hawkshead
From its junction with the C5026, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 2600m.
Alternative Route: via the U5059, C5025 and C5026.
6. U5598 Grigg Hall Lane, Brigsteer
From its junction with the C5059, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 190m.
Alternative Route: via the C5059 and C5048.
7. U5482 Frowstrow Lane, Sedbergh
From its junctions with the A684, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 240m. There is no suitable alternative route available.
8. C5091 Pool Darkin Lane, Beetham
From its junction with the B6384, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 380m. Alternative Route: via the B6384, U5434 and A6.
9. C5047 Mill Lane, Crosthwaite
From its junction with the A5074, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 370m. Alternative Route: via the C5047 and A5074.
10. C5047 Little Moss Side, Crosthwaite
From its junction with the C5048, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 190m. Alternative Route: via the C5048 and the A5074.
11. U5509 Coal Road, Dent
From its junction with the A684, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1440m. Alternative Route: via the C5101 and A684.
12. C5077 Killington
From its junction with the C5079, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 660m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C5077, C5069, C5078 and C5079.

From its junction with the C5071, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 450m. Alternative Route: via the B6385 and C5071.
14. C5033 Birkrigg Common to Scales
From its junction with the C5035, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 370m. Alternative Route: via the C5035 and C5032
15. U5140 Birkrigg Common, Coast Road
From its junction with the A5087, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 310m.
Alternative Route: via the A5087, C5038 Bardsea, C5035 and C5033.
16. U5438 Gilthwaiterigg Lane, Kendal
From its junction with the C5056, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 110m. Alternative Route: via the C5056, A6 and U5847.
17. U5605 Brigsteer Causeway, Brigsteer
From its junction with the U5616, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 740m. Alternative Route: via the U5605, C5059, U5617, U5615 and U5616
18. C5074 Viver Lane, Hincaster
From its junction with the C5073, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 690m. Alternative Route: via the C5073, B6385, A65 Endmoor and the unrestricted sections of the C5074.
19. U5345 White Lane, Woodhouse
From its junction with the C5073, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 90m. Alternative Route: via the C5073 and C5071.
