(Side road, Gilesgate (adjacent to carriageway) Durham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council on 1/4/22 made the ahove Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 20 metres of side road on Gilesgate (adjacent to carriageway), Durham from 173 Gilesgate to Manor Lodge to enable gas main works to be undertaken. Diversion available from east side of closure in an easterly direction to join Gilesgate, then in a westerly direction onto the Gilesgate roundabout, then in a southerly direction on St Hild's Lane and onto the Gilesgate side road to southern end of closure and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 11/4/22 from 7am and are anticipated to be completed in 10 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
