Temporary Closure Of Footpath MST 44 (Stonehouse Town) Stroud District

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath MST 44 from a point behind The Globe Inn Public House and running in a generally easterly direction for approximately 65 metres to a point by Meadow Road Playing Field. The closure is necessary to carry out upgrade works on the existing footpath crossing.
The Footpath was expected to be closed at 23:00 on the 26th November 2021 and it is anticipated that it will remain in force until 18:00 on 10th December 2021 or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. However, the works have continued and the closure will remain in place until the 26th May 2022. After this date if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time. Proposed alternative route: As signed on site. Pedestrian and emergency access to adjoining premises will not be maintained as the crossing will be removed leaving no way to get across the railway track.
